History of the Master's Program
Ondokuz Mayıs University Graduate School of Education Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema; With the aim of training students studying in the field of communication at an academic level to interpret, produce, research, and analyze issues that concern societies in social, economic, artistic, cultural, political, philosophical, etc. terms from the perspective of the media in question, it accepted its first students to the Thesis-based Master's Program in the Spring Semester of 2023-2024. The requirements for applying to the master's program are specified in the Ondokuz Mayıs University Graduate Education and Training Regulations. According to the Regulations, "Applicants must have a bachelor's degree or a provisional graduation certificate. If the bachelor's degree was obtained abroad, it must be recognized as equivalent by the Higher Education Council." The completion period for the thesis-based master's program is four semesters, regardless of whether the student registers for each semester, starting from the semester in which the courses for the registered program are offered, with a maximum of six semesters. Students who successfully complete the credit-bearing courses and seminar course included in the teaching plan at the end of four semesters and meet the success conditions/criteria within this period, and who are successful in their thesis work and defense within the maximum period, graduate from this program.
